BUILDING A VIEWFOO USING THE GENERAL TEMPLATE
STEP BY STEP VIDEO - "HOW TO CREATE A VIEWFOO"
CREATING A VIEWFOO
To create a ViewFoo, after logging in, click on the green CREATE A VIEWFOO tab at the top of the page. Choose a preset template or a blank ViewFoo to customize exactly how you want your ViewFoo to look.
NO FILE SIZE LIMITATIONS
Use as many or as few Containers as you want. Choose what to put into your Containers and create your view your way.
Click the icons on the top of each Container to choose Image, Image Gallery, Document Viewer, Text Editor, Description, Video, Audio, Attachments, Links, or Record Audio. Resize Containers by clicking and dragging the lower right hand corner of any Container to make it larger or smaller.
The Image Container allows you to upload one or more images that can be viewed one at a time in their own Container. Uploadable files include .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .png, and .gif. Once the image(s) has been uploaded, you can write a caption, or click the x to remove the caption box at the bottom. You can choose to get rid of one or more images by clicking the x in the upper right hand corner, or click the trash can icon to delete the entire container. Click the edit pencil by the title to add your own title to any Container.
IMAGE GALLERY CONTAINER
The Image Gallery Container allows you to upload one or more thumbnail sized images that can later be viewed as full sized images when clicked on in a completed ViewFoo. Uploadable files include .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .png, and .gif.
DOCUMENT VIEWER CONTAINER
The Document Viewer Container allows you to upload one or more documents to display in your Container. Uploadable files include .doc, .docx, .xlsx, .xls, .pdf, .ppt, .pptx, .txt, .php, .py, .html, .pl, .bat, .cpp, .yaml, .xml, .cxx, .erb, .htm. Click on Browse Files, and choose a file from anywhere on your computer.
TEXT EDITOR CONTAINER
The Text Editor Container allows you to enter as much text as you would like using different text editing functions similar to those found in products like MS Office, email, etc. Enter as much, or as little text as you like.
The Description Container allows you to enter as much or as little plain text as you'd like right into the Container.
RAW VIDEO CONTAINER
The Video Container allows you to upload a video straight from your computer. Uploadable files include: .flv, .mp4, .mov, .wmv, .avi, .3gp, .webm.
YouTube/ Vimeo VIDEO LINKS OR EMBED CONTAINER
The Video Container allows you to upload or embed a video from YouTube or Vimeo using the video url, or the embed code. More platforms including Vine, Vevo, and more will be available soon.
The Audio Container allows you to upload raw and edited audio files straight from your computer. Uploadable files include .mp3, .wav, .ogg, .wma, .ra, .mp4.
The Attachment Container allows you to attach virtually anything into your Container, the same way you would attach files to an email.
The Link Container allows you to add links to other websites, webpages, and content within your ViewFoo.
AUDIO RECORDER CONTAINER
The Audio Recorder Container allows you to record your voice, or any other audible content straight to the Container. All you need is a microphone.
PUBLIC SCENE AND PRIVATE NETWORKS (COMING SOON)
When you create your ViewFoo you have one of two options. You can choose to share your ViewFoo with the world and publish the ViewFoo publicly into one of ViewFoo’s defined categories, or you can choose to publish Private. At ViewFoo, “Private” means “Private”. You have total control over who see’s your Private ViewFoo. It can only be shared by you and you can easily switch from The Public ViewFoo Scene to your Private ViewFoo Scene easily by a click of a button, right from your ViewFoo account. No more worrying about someone seeing a post or something you didn't want to be shared.
SHARING A VIEWFOO
Once you have created your ViewFoo, click the share button on the left hand side. A bar will appear allowing you to share your ViewFoo to many different platforms. Click on the icon where you want to share your ViewFoo, and follow the prompts.
COMMENTING ON A VIEWFOO
Once you have created your ViewFoo, click the comment button on the left hand side. A box will appear allowing you to leave a comment on your ViewFoo or another users ViewFoo via Facebook.
SAVING A VIEWFOO
If you find a public ViewFoo that you like or would like to save, simply click the save button on the left hand side. A box will appear asking for the folder you want to save it to. Use folders to organize and quickly access your ViewFoos.
VIEWFOO SELF DESTRUCT
Once you have created your ViewFoo, click the Self Destruct button on the left hand side. The Self Destruct feature will appear. Choose how long you want the ViewFoo to be available using the up and down arrows in terms of days, hours, minutes, and/or seconds. Once the Self Destruct feature is activated, your ViewFoo will only be available to view for the amount of time specified. How much time is left is seen on a countdown meter in the upper right corner. Once time runs out, your ViewFoo will disappear and no longer be available to view by anyone.
VIEWFOO PASSWORD PROTECT
To activate ViewFoo Password Protect simply click on the unlock icon on your Private ViewFoo and then click on the green button, "SAVE and PROTECT". It's Fast! To "unlock" a protected ViewFoo, click on the locked icon again (on the ViewFoo Tile), and enter the password or have the system quickly retrieve and send a copy of your password to your email or mobile phone.
DELETING A VIEWFOO
Once you have created your ViewFoo, click the Delete button on the left hand side. This will delete your ViewFoo. Alternately, you may click the trash can symbol on a ViewFoo cover to delete the ViewFoo without clicking into it.
RESETTING YOUR PASSWORD
Forgot your password? We'll send you a link so you can reset it. Click on "Forgot your password?" on the login page. Enter your email address that you used to login with, and click "Reset Password." You will get an email with a link prompting you to reset your password. If you're already logged in, you can change your password from your profile settings.
EDIT YOUR PROFILE
Click Profile at the top right of the page. Your profile slider should appear on the right hand side. Change your name, color, picture, location, password, mobile number or age. You can emable and disable 2-step verification. When you're done, click Done Editing to save the changes.
2-STEP VIEWFOO ACCOUNT VERIFICATION
2-Step Verification allows you to have an extra measure of security when logging into your ViewFoo account. If you choose to enable this feature, a sms text message will be sent to your mobile phone with an alpha numeric code each time you log in. (Message and/or data rates may apply.) This code must then be entered exactly as it appears in the message before you will be able to log in. If for any reason you do not receive your code, make sure your mobile phone is able to receive sms messages, then click "Resend Code" and another one will be sent to you. Choose to enable or disable 2-Step Verification by clicking on the Profile tab at the top of the page. There will be a check box at the bottom of the Edit Profile section which will allow you to enable or disable this feature. Then click Done Editing to save your changes.
Simply click "Sign Out" at the top right of the page and you will be signed out of your ViewFoo account.
Spam is not allowed on ViewFoo. If you come across a ViewFoo with misleading links or other such spammy content, please take a moment to report it to us and we will look into it.
